Senior Pranks At Grissom High School Lead To Dozens Of Suspensions

Do I agree with this prank? NO!  Do I think I got carried away?  YES!  Do I think the kids should ahve been suspended? NO!  I am a mother of 2 school aged children and after seeing this on the news, y kids were scared that they might be involved in something like this when they are freshman...  I just told both of them to "chock it up and move on".  There are some stupid kids out there that think they are better than everyone else that will try to bully you but you ahve to stand up for yourself and make them see that you aren't going to take their crap.  If you bow down to them, that will only make it worse.  If my kids (as a freshman) got hit with a balloon filled with urine, water, flour, paint, whatever, then call me(their mother), I will bring you a change of clothes and you go right back into school like nothing happened.  By causing a big scene about this, those seniors are going to be more pissed off when they come back to school that there isn't any telling what they will do worse...  Parents need to stop babying their kids and let them grow up a little.  Stand up to that bully and tell him you aren't going to take it anymore...  He is more likely to take a step back and say " He stood up to me, he's not afaird of me, he's pretty cool."    To the seniors that actually did the prank, GROW UP!

This might have been a senior prank but when you hit a lady and her dog with a water balloon filled with flour it feels like being hit with a rock.   Animals rights might come out because they hit the dog, animal cruelty. What about the student who got hit ? It seems that no one is concernd about the lady, dog or the student who go hit, everyone is concerned about the suspensions and it being a prank. What about the alcohol that was found in vehicles on school campus?  As for the person who said that crime has increased at Grissom step back and take a look around, there are students being BUSED from the north side to come to Grissom.  Last year a student who was bused from the north side threatened my child, who lives legally in the Grissom area.  All the resource officers knew exactly who this student was.  These students who did the senior prank chose to do this and now they must face the consequences, some lost positions in the Student Government Association (some roll models), lost parking spaces and some of those students that got suspended have posted on facebook that they are alright with being suspended. They have no remorse for their actions. Its going to be hard to fillout that college application when you have to answer have you ever been convicted of a crime. (yes being stupid).
