Several dozen students at Grissom High School in Huntsville were suspended on Friday after pulling pranks on fellow classmates in lower grades.

The exact number of suspensions is not known, but we understand it is at least 45 seniors.  We understand they threw water balloons at freshmen students.  Some balloons contained water, and others contained flour and paint.  Principal Tom Drake said these seniors will lose their special parking spots, as well as membership in honor societies, student council and other extracurricular activities.

In addition to suspension, some students could face criminal charges.  School administrators are discussing this matter with school resource officers.

At Huntsville High School, Principal Leslie Esnault there was also a water balloon incident, and approximately 200 freshmen girls were forced to wear T-shirts that said 'Freshmen Are Losers'.  As of Friday afternoon, no one had been suspended, though.

WHNT NEWS 19 reached out to Dr. Casey Wardynski for a comment on the matter.  We have not received a response from him yet.

WHNT NEWS 19 will continue to check for updates on this developing story.
