Drug Agents Talk About Drugs & Weapons Seized
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Wednesday marked the second night in a row the The Madison-Morgan County Strategic Counterdrug Team has made a big bust. On Tuesday, they arrested two people in South Huntsville, Michael Jude and Deja Moore.

Agents say they found all kinds of drugs from marijuana to crack and weapons in the apartment on Reaches Place.

It's clear, the law is keeping a close watch on drug activity across Madison county and Huntsville. Some folks who live near where the bust happened talked to WHNT NEWS 19 off camera. They said it's a welcomed sight to see police cracking down!

Drug agents interrupted a quiet night on Huntsville's southside. They were wrapping up a long investigation that led them to a town home on Reaches Place.

"investigators spend their time out looking, and working off leads, and things like that," said Madison-Morgan County Strategic Counterdrug Team Commander Sergeant Dewayne McCarver.

Members of the Madison-Morgan County Strategic Counterdrug Team used surveillance video with leads from the public to zero in on the site of their latest bust.

The STAC team showed WHNT NEWS 19 what they seized.

They seized three ounces of crack, a bag of weed, a measuring scale, a slew of loaded weapons including a sub machine gun, and all the ammunition to go with it.

"To have that much cocaine, and that many weapons guarding it, it's obvious this is not a recreational type thing," added Sgt. McCarver.

The STAC Team's commander says the two people arrested were pushing the drugs to the streets and selling them for thousands of dollars.

Drug agents have hit South Huntsville almost 30 times in the last month. They say the drug and weapon seizure on Reaches Place still sticks out as a big deal.

"It's always a big deal when you can get somebody that's carrying those types of weapons off the street," added Sgt. McCarver.

Michael Jude and Deja Moore are in this jail, and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance. Federal weapons charges are pending against both.
