Women in Morgan County can now get a mammogram with top-rate technology. Decatur General is now offering digital mammograms. The hospital is the first to offer it in Morgan County.A digital mammogram offers quicker results compared to film-based systems. Doctors can also see more by doing this type of test.
WHNT NEWS 19 talked with a patient about her experience with the new digital mammogram.
"They can see more and it's quicker," said Stacey Peebles. "That's why I like this one alot better. Within 45 seconds, they can see everything up on the screen and it is amazing. You can see every teeny little detail," she added.
Digital mammograms are helping women in the fight against breast cancer in early detection.
