Operation Phone Home: Make Donations Through December 2

Operation Phone Home: Make Donations Through December 2

For the second year, WHNT NEWS 19 is teaming up with Listerhill Credit Union for Operation Phone Home.

This is your chance to help soldiers serving overseas stay connected to their loved ones during the holidays.

It's easy to participate. Between now and December 2, fill out holiday greeting cards - make sure to leave them unsealed - and drop them off at any Listerhill Credit Union location.

Or, you can donate money to buy phone cards that will be sent with your greeting cards to soldiers. We work with the United Service Organizations (USO) to use the funds we raise to purchase the phone cards. The phone cards will be sent along with the messages of encouragement.

You can drop off cards at any Listerhill Credit Union location, or at Carlton Cards or Hallmark at Madison Square Mall, and Hallmark at Parkway Place Mall.

The deadline to drop off cards or money for phone cards is Wednesday, December 2.

Luncheon Fundraiser

And, there's another way you can help raise funds for Operation Phone Home. Join us for a holiday luncheon and meet some of your favorite WHNT NEWS 19 personalities like Jerry Hayes, Elise Morgan, Greg Screws and Steve Johnson. Proceeds from the fixed price luncheon are used to buy phone cards for the troops.

Luncheon details:
  • Tuesday, Nov. 24, noon
  • Carrabba's at Parkway Place Mall
  • Tickets: $25
  • To buy a ticket, call 256-533-1919 during normal business hours.
