FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) — A man who was shot by police after firing at a Russellville officer is now suspected in the September shooting and burglary of a Phil Campell pharmacy.

The Times Daily in Florence reports Thursday that 49-year-old Steve Cain faces charged including attempted murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree receiving stolen property and first-degree criminal mischief.

The charges were filed Wednesday.

Cain is accused of breaking into the pharmacy Sept. 11 and shooting at a police officer before making off with several bottles of prescription drugs.

Cain is in the Franklin County jail on bail of $250,000 from a Sept. 20 incident where he is accused of shooting at Russellville officers responding to a call of a suspicious person at Hometown Pharmacy.
