KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Scotty Hopson scored 16 points, Cameron Tatum had 15 off the bench, and No. 10 Tennessee beat Austin Peay 83-54 on Friday night.

The Volunteers (1-0) are trying to return to coach Bruce Pearl's full-court pressure style of play, but were sloppy against the Governors (0-1). They were only 43.3 percent from the field in the first half before shooting 53.8 percent in the second half.

The Vols used their pressure to force 19 turnovers, scoring 22 points off them.

Tennessee led by only six at halftime, then scored the first nine out of the break. Cameron Tatum's 3-pointer pushed the lead to 43-27 with 14:28 to go.

Tyler Smith added 14 and 11 rebounds, and Wayne Chism had 11 points and 10 boards.

Anthony Campbell led Austin Peay with 17 points. Wesley Channels added 13 and Tyrone Caldwell had 11.
