JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (AP) — Police in northeast Tennessee say a man shot a truck that two private investigators had abandoned when he pulled a shotgun, then went home and awaited arrest.
Washington County Sheriff's Capt. Mark Page told the Johnson City Press two investigators were working a worker's compensation claim against Andrew N. Blackburn of Jonesborough and had been following him for a couple of days when he became aware of them on Wednesday.
Blackburn was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after investigators said he fired three 12-gauge shotgun blasts into the unoccupied truck.
Page said that, after shooting the vehicle, the 38-year-old Blackburn went home and later surrendered to deputies without incident.
He was scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Washington County Sessions Court.
