MADISON COUNTY -
We have new information in the series of Madison County arsons.
This weekend two more fires destroyed cars and homes.
Sunday morning just before two an arsonist hit on Stephens Drive off Charity Lane in Hazel Green.
The fire destroyed the home and a vehicle.
Then Monday morning again just before two the arsonist strikes in Toney on Deer Creek Trail off Toney School Road.
At this location two cars and the home were destroyed.
Scottie Oneil woke to the smell of smoke coming in his living room on Deer Creek Trail.
"The living room was full of smoke. I got up and made my way towards the garage and opened the garage door and when I did flames just hit me in the face and you could see the whole garage was engulfed," said Oneil.
He quickly realized what was on fire.
"You could see through the garage door the car was on fire. I just slammed the door back and ran and grabbed the baby. And started hollering at Jesse to grab Ethan the house was on fire," said Oneil.
Just like the other fires across Madison County from the past two weeks, he knows someone did this on purpose.
"Very angry, disgusted. You know a lot of work, a lot of effort is just gone. and just disgusted," said Oneil.
Disgusted that someone would put his families lives in danger.
"For somebody to burn it out from under you. There's no words to describe it," said Oneil.
Oneil is just glad angels were looking over him and his family.
"Thankfully, we all got out with our lives and we got tremendous outreach from the community already. We appreciate everybody's prayers and support. We'll just pick up and move on," said Oneil.
The Oneil's have lived at their home for eleven years.
