The man charged with killing two Huntsville teens has filed a claim against the Madison County Sheriff's Department, saying he did not receive due process.
Just two weeks ago, Ortega appeared in court and apologized for the wreck that killed the two teens. Ortega's lawyers have filed a new civil claim, saying their client should be released from jail immediately because his rights have been violated. They want his bond lowered so he can afford to pay it.
Ortega is accused of driving drunk and hitting a car carrying 19-year-old Tad Mattle and 16-year-old Leigh Anna Jimmerson in April.
He' s been in the Madison County Jail since being released from the hospital.
