A Guntersville police officer who was shot in September has been healing well from his injury. Thursday, doctors removed a bullet from Jason Austin's head.
Austin is doing well after the outpatient surgery, according to police. The procedure was done in Huntsville.
The bullet had been lodged above Austin's right ear. He was shot in September after a chase that started in Albertville, following a traffic stop.
Three people are charged in the shooting. Elizabeth Moody, 33, is accused of firing the gun. She is charged with two counts of attempted murder.
Barrie Vaughn, 38, and Royce Murphy, 53, are charged with manufacturing crystal methamphetamine.
The bullet didn't cause any major problems for Austin, but did cause him to have headaches, and caused some paralysis on the right side of his face.
