Alabama Department of Public Health: 15 People Now Dead From H1N1
Friday afternoon, the Alabama Department of Public Health said four more people in the state have died from the H1N1 virus. These include a woman in her 30s and a man in his 60s from Montgomery County, a man in his 40s from Calhoun County, and a man in his 30s from Mobile County.

This now makes 15 known deaths from the swine flu in Alabama. Previous deaths have occurred during 2009 in Bullock, Dale, Houston, Jackson, Jefferson, Macon, Madison, Montgomery, Russell and Talladega counties.

"The continued widespread incidence of 2009 H1N1 influenza in Alabama and the 15 known deaths in the state serve as reminder of the need for everyone to take steps to prevent transmission of disease and to be immunized for both seasonal and H1N1 influenza when vaccine becomes available," said Dr. Jim McVay with the Alabama Department of Public Health.
