HARTSELLE, AL -
The city of Hartselle is rocked by a weekend tragedy. Two bodies were found in a home on Martin street Saturday afternoon. Police there are now working a death investigation.
Hartselle Police told WHNT NEWS 19 the victims are Osbon and Nellie Crauswell. They were a couple. Both were 78 years-old.
The bodies of the man and woman were found inside a home. It's in the 700 block of Martin Street.
Dorless Helms has lived in the Hartselle neighborhood for 18 years.
"It's quiet. The neighbors are really quiet. It's a good neighborhood," said Helms.
Neighbors say the victims were a couple.
"You just wonder how could it happen in your neighborhood. They were nice people. They were sweet people," added Helms.
They were both elderly, but often showed signs of being in their younger years.
"You would see them, and think they were newlyweds. They would walk down the road and would be holding hands," added Helms.
Hartselle Police say both of the victims suffered gunshot wounds. Police are continuing to investigate.
