This year, Cedar Ridge Middle School is one of ten schools chosen to be a part of the program.

The middle schoolers are working on a documentary based on a local Decatur artist.

"Once we give them those jobs they understand that this is not a classroom anymore. This is a crew. This is a workplace," said Brandon Kramer, a Media Teaching Artist with the Kennedy Center. "We have 13 days to create a documentary. From that point on it's a train that just keeps going and moving. It really doesn't feel like class time."

Once the documentary is finished, it will be posted on the Kennedy Center's web site.
