An Etowah County judge has sentenced Kevin Towles to death by lethal injection, for the murder of five-year-old Geontae Glass. The judge handed down the sentence just after 2pm Friday.
In October, the jury found Towles guilty of the murder. Jurors also recommended he be put to death.
Geontae's mother, Shalinda Glass, is also charged with murder in her son's death. She is scheduled to go on trial in the spring of 2010.
