Decatur Police are asking for your help to track down a man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and their four-month-old son. The incident happened on Tuesday morning.
Police responded to the 1500 block of A Street NW on a domestic violence call. Police say Lazon DeShawn Seay, 34, punched his 26-year-old girlfriend and six-month-old son during the attack, striking the infant in the head. Both the woman and the infant were hurt, and the child was taken to Decatur General Hospital for treatment.
Doctors held the infant overnight for observation, and said this morning it appears the baby will be fine.
Police say Seay fled the scene before they arrived. They have obtained two arrest warrants, each charging him with one count of third-degree domestic violence.
The family wants Seay caught now.
"You hurt my blood you hurt me. You know it's like to me it's unexplainable words to me to sit here and say for a person to harm a women or a child is really insane you really need some serious help," said Chris Hill, the victim's brother.
