BELGREEN, AL -
Search crews have found a woman who went missing Monday in the Belgreen community of Franklin County. They found Olene Tompkins around 8:30 Tuesday morning.
Belgreen Fire Chief Ken Dobbs says teams found Tompkins in the woods between County Road 524 and Highway 24. She is alive and talking, but cold.
Tompkins family discovered she was missing around 5pm on Monday. She is 84 years old, and has Alzheimer's. Her family was very worried about her.
Crews from across North Alabama searched the woods around her home on Tompkins Road all night, using ATVs. Dobbs told WHNT NEWS 19 there are lots of strip mines and underbrush in the area, which made it a difficult area to search.
