HUNTSVILLE, AL -
This Sunday, we will mark 20 years since an F-4 tornado hit Airport Road on November 15, 1989. Twenty-three people died, and hundreds were injured.
The giant twister uprooted lives and left behind millions of dollars in damage.
This Sunday, the City of Huntsville will pause for a moment of silence at 4:31pm. You can take part in this moment of silence at the tornado memorial outside of Faith Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Whitesburg Drive and Airport Road. The church's parking lot will be open so you can park there and join others as we remember this tragic day in Huntsville's history.
Were you in Huntsville when the tornado came through? What do you remember? Where were you?
