HUNTSVILLE -
Huntsville Police are investigating an overnight wreck that sent an SUV off the road and into a tree.
Police say the driver of an Isuzu Rodeo was turning off Moores Mill Road onto Highway 72 around 2 a.m. when she lost control of the car. The vehicle went across four lanes of traffic, down a ditch, more than 100 yards of Mitchell Plastic property and through another ditch, before finally landing in a tree.
Police say the driver told them her brakes went out, but they say they think she accidentally hit the accelerator.
The driver was taken to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the SUV was treated at the scene.
