Morgan County Homebuilders Help With Renovations For Molly Moses
DECATUR - Molly Moses lost her leg in July, in a boating accident. She has been in the hospital since the accident on July 31st. There's still no word how soon she'll be released, but there's no doubt everyone is rooting for her. New groups are coming together to make her home ready for her return.

Last month, we showed you how some stores in Decatur are selling purple bracelets that say 'Miracles for Molly.' The money will go towards medical bills for Molly Moses and now the community is coming together again.

This time, another group is coming forward to make the teenager's home more comfortable when she returns. The Greater Morgan County Builders Association is making Moses' home handicap accessible.

This is a story of a community coming together. The Greater Morgan County Builders Association couldn't ignore that the Moses' home needed renovations before Molly returns.

Outside the Moses' home on Wednesday, wood for the wheelchair ramp arrives. Inside, crews did demolition work on Molly's bathroom.

Volunteers are working to give Molly a new bathroom, widen her doors, and install hardwood surfaces throughout the house.

"We're homebuilders," said Marlon Morris. "This is what we do. And the way the community has come together, it just didn't make sense for us not to do this."

After hours of work getting the house fit for Molly, her mom arrives to see the progress.

"It's just overwhelming. Oh my God," said Polly Moses.

When she left, a teal iron-cast bathtub sat in the bathroom. Now, a white Whirlpool tub awaits her daughter.

"Everybody's been so great to us. I was so worried how we were going to take care of modifying things for when home started to come in to the vocabulary of doctors. It's just going to be wonderful. Now I don't have to worry," said Polly Moses.

"The community has just been pulling together for her every since this happened," we said to Polly.

"People we don't know. I mean I don't know any of these people," Polly Moses replied. "I just hope I can give to people what they give to us. Just good people everywhere."

Good people not expecting anything in return. These renovations won't cost the family a dime.

The doctors have not said when Molly will be released from the hospital, but her mom says she would love to have her home for Thanksgiving dinner.
