Rain Damage Closes DeKalb County Road Indefinitely
Sylvania - The heavy rain of the past two months has a casualty in DeKalb County. County Road 27 is now closed, that's because a part kept falling off the mountain.

DeKalb County road crews have been patching the road over and over, but it was no use. The road finally became a hazard to people driving on it.

The road goes from Sylvania to Fort Payne. Now people who live in the area are having to drive about 15 minutes out of their way to get to Fort Payne, where most of the stores in the county are located.

FEMA money will be used to make the repairs, but it could take awhile. The ground will have to dry out before any work can start. So it might be in June or later before repairs can start.
