Monday morning weather caused road problems all across the Tennessee Valley.

Colbert County and Lauderdale County had some of the heaviest snowfall, resulting in slick road conditions. Madison roads were covered with ice and snow throughout the morning. Chapman Mountain was also reported to be extremely slick.

Monte Sano Blvd. and 1-565 were closed early in the day, due to icy roads. The early afternoon rain melted most of the ice, and roads were re-opened just hours later.

The Alabama Department of Transportation spent the morning treating elevated sections of Memorial Parkway.

The hazzardous roads quickly went from icy and slick to wet and slushy. Motorists should still take extra precaution while driving on roads, as there may still be some ice and wet pavement.
