Judge Roy Moore is expected to announce his candidacy for governor next month.Moore has a news conference scheduled for Monday, June 1 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Montgomery.
The Republican ran against Governor Bob Riley in 2006 and got only 33 percent of the vote.
Moore gained national notoriety when he brought a large Ten Commandments monument into the Alabama Supreme Court during his tenure as Chief Justice. He refused to remove it, and that ultimately cost him his job.
