The tragedy started at a mobile home that once stood here on Milky Way Drive in Pulaski, Tennessee. It's evoking emotions all over the Tennessee Valley including at the Victory Gym a few miles away.
"It's unbelievably true. It just sucks. I don't know what to say about it," said Student Taylor Warren.
Taylor Warren stopped by the gym owned by Desere Thornton. She and her two sons, a 9-year-old and 16-year-old, were killed in a fire. Warren goes to school with one of the fire victims and the teenager in jail.
"I was almost in disbelief with all the rumors going through the school of what happened," added Warren.
Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are wanting to know what happened. They were are the scene of the fire on saturday sifting through what's left of the family's home.
"I was upset last night thinking about Jarrad's death. It came to my mind several times. It was just depressing," added Warren.
While Warren did not see the actual black cloud over the scene of the fire, he says he saw something similar at his school after word spread of the tragedy.
"It was like a black cloud came over it. The first sign I noticed of it were a couple of girls crying in the hallways," added Warren.
Kyle Helton is the Giles County Sherrif.
"It has been very stressful for all of my guys," said Sheriff Helton.
WHNT NEWS 19 has learned investigators are close to making a second arrest in the case. The person is currently in the burn unit at the Vanderbilt medical center. He has severe burns to his arms and chest along with a stab wound on his arm.
The sheriff would not confirm, but did say investigators are working to solve the murders.
"The most important part is to get these guys, get them charged, put them in jail, and get them prosecuted," added Sheriff Helton.
Sources told WHNT NEWS 19 TBI agents are currently standing guard over the other person and his family in the burn unit at Vanderbilt.
Sheriff Helton later elaborated on WHNT NEWS 19's findings.
"Yes, there will be another one charged in the near future with first-degree murder in three counts," added Sheriff Helton.
