Star Wars Exhibit Coming To Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE - The Star Wars exhibit is coming to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

Al Whitaker, Media Relations Manager says this is the largest temporary exhibit in the Space Center's history. It will fill up the main museum building which is about 12,000 square feet.

This will show costumes, models, and props from all six movies in the Star Wars saga.

And it's one of a kind for the southeast, This is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the country.

Judy Ryals with the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau says this could mean big dollars for the Rocket City!

She said last year tourism revenue stood at 1 billion dollars and that number could only grow in the future. Ryals goes on to say Alabama tourism is up 2%, which is good compared to other cities. For example Atlanta's tourism is down by 20%.

"We're going to try and go statewide with our partnerships to try and keep that traveling family a little bit longer, and that just means additional dollars," she said.

This will be a hands-on exhibit will be here next summer and will last through august of 2010.
