The storms rumbled through Madison and gave residents in Timberline and Madison I Apartments a run for their money. Snapped or uprooted trees are just about everywhere you turn. A few large limbs of not the trees themselves fell on buildings.
Some residents were home to see just how powerful the storm can be in a matter of minutes. Brooke Collier said she's amazed at home strong the winds were outside of her apartment.
"You could hear the trees popping, breaking I thought my windows were going to break because they were shaking so bad," said Collier.
Chris Fuqua said he is grateful that he and his neighbors are safe. "I didn't know what was going on I stuck my head out and my neighbor told me there was a tornado coming through and take cover," he said.
