Police Investigate Terrorist Device in Mailbox
BOAZ, AL - Saturday a Boaz man went to his mailbox, but inside was more than just mail. There was some type of device inside that sprayed the man with a poisonous chemical.

This happened on McVille Road at the home of Randall Gilbreath. The devise sprayed Gilbreath on the hands.

The chemical is called chloroacetaldehyde. It's used to kill fungi, algae and bacteria. It can also be harmful to humans if left on the skin.

Boaz Police say the Gilbreath did go to the hospital but is ok. They are now trying to figure out why someone would leave the device. Gilbreath told them he has had no conflicts with anyone.

Police do consider this to be a terrorist threat. If someone is caught, they face felony charges.
