GUNTERSVILLE, AL—
TVA sprayers began treating areas of Lake Guntersville on Monday. It will be the first of the last two public sprayings.Starting next year, the power producer will only spray public areas like boat ramps. This has property owners very upset.
They say TVA is responsible for the entire lake. That is true -- TVA controls the entire Tennessee River System, including all of its lakes.
Richard Buckelew has property on the lake. He says next year, property owners will be on their own to spray around their boathouses.
He worries what will happen when unqualified people start dumping chemicals into the lake. He and others are hoping TVA might reverse its decision by next summer.
