Robber Hits 2 Madison County Banks Under 1 Hour
A bank bandit hit twice in less than an hour on Tuesday. Police say he is still on the run.

The robber first hit the BB&T in Madison on Madison Boulevard around 3:00p.m. Police say he then headed down to take money from CB&S Bank on University about eight miles away. Police say they are definitely looking for the same person.

Police have released pictures of the robber inside both banks. The only difference anyone can see is what the robber is wearing on his head.

Police in Huntsville and Madison say he made their afternoon quite busy.

A witness told police the thief handed the teller a note demanding money during both robberies. WHNT NEWS 19 was told the teller gave up the money in both situations, and the crook took off after each robbery.

Witnesses say the bandit drove away in a white car, believed to be a Chevy Malibu, with a Texas license plate. Investigators say the license plate is stolen.

No one was hurt in either robbery. The amount of money taken from each bank is unknown.

Police say if you have any information about either of the robberies, please call (256) 722-7190.
