Country music singer Vern Gosdin passed away overnight at a hospital in Nashville. He was 74 years old.
Gosdin had suffered a stroke earlier this month.
Gosdin was born in Woodland, Ala., in 1934. He moved to California in the 1960s and formed the Gosdin Brothers with his brother Rex. They had hits like "Hangin' On," and "Till the End." And he continued writing hits into the 1980s and early 1990s.
In 2005, Gosdin was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
