Hundreds of people will gather in downtown Huntsville today to honor veterans in north Alabama. The annual Veterans Day parade is at 11am.
Several roads in downtown Huntsville will be closed for the parade from 10:30am to 1:00pm. Huntsville Police will have officers at various intersections to keep traffic flowing smoothly.
Parade participants will assemble and begin in parking Lot K, located at Clinton and Woodson Avenue. They will then take the following route:
The parade will disband between Monroe Street and Pollard Street.
Once the parade passes the intersection of Monroe Street at Jefferson Street, Monroe Street between Washington Street and Jefferson Street will be closed for a special flag retirement ceremony to be held in the street directly in front of the Veteran's Memorial Park.

- Travel east on Clinton Avenue
- Turn right (south) on Monroe Street
- Turn left (east) on Williams Avenue
- Turn left (north) on Lincoln Street
- Continue on to Monroe Street traveling west then south
- Turn right (west) on Holmes Avenue
