Teammates and family members of four Florence Falcon football players filled the school library this morning to watch as the players signed their national letter of intent.

Davian Barnett, Caleb Carbine and Damian Simmons all signed their letters of intent to join the University of North Alabama football squad.

Chris Hawkins, a 6'3, 295 pound offensive lineman, signed his letter of intent with Troy University.

These four seniors helped lead Florence to a 9-and-3 season. The Falcon's season came to an end with a loss in the second round of the 6A State Playoffs to Gadsden City.

Four Buckhorn seniors have all signed their letters of intent to continue their football careers after high school.

Deshler High School:

Packed with family, friends and schoolmates, the Winston Home on the Deshler Campus served as the back drop for Deion Belue to sign his National Letter of Intent to play for the Crimson Tide of Alabama.

Belue was a State 4A stand-out, who played both offense and defense for the Deshler Tigers. Although he racked up numerous touchdowns both on the ground and through the air, it's his play on defense that got Coach Saban's attention.

Belue is expected to play defensive cornerback and special teams for the University of Alabama. He will report to Tuscaloosa in June.

Chris May signed with the University of South Alabama. May, who committed to South Alabama before the start of the 2009 season, is an all-state offensive lineman and will remain in that capacity at South Alabama.
