A teenager died in Lawrence County after being hit by a vehicle.
WHNT NEWS 19 has confirmed a 15 year old boy died when he was hit by a passing SUV while riding his bike. The boy's name is Delwin Eugene "DJ" Milligan, Junior. The accident happened early this (Thursday) afternoon on County Road 400 in Hillsboro.
Witnesses tell WHNT NEWS 19, DJ was riding bikes with friends, when he tried to turn in front of the passing vehicle.
The boys were headed to Mallard Creek.
His friend riding with him, Chris Dillard, can't believe this has happened.
"My brother yelled, and he had a drink in his hand. When he looked back to see the truck, the truck was already trying to pass, and he got hit," said Dillard.
No charges are expected on the driver of the Red Chevy Blazer at this time.
State Troopers are investigating the accident.
