Economic Stimulus Little Help For Marshall County Roads
Now that President Obama's stimulus bill is law, local leaders are waiting to see what impact it might have here in North Alabama. However, one Marshall County leader is already saying the money coming to his county will do very little.

Douglas Flemming is the chairman of the Marshall County Commission. He says each county in Alabama will be getting about $300,000. That might seem like a lot, but Flemming says not really.

"That really won't do much work," Flemming says. "You will get 3 or 4 miles of paving out of that."

Flemming told the county commission several weeks ago, that the money is such a small amount, he would rather the taxpayers just be able to keep that money. The county has already been faced with a bill of $500,000. That is from the damage caused to county roads by the January flooding.
